Chocolate Chip Cookies : Ultimate Cooking Challenge
For me, chocolate chip cookies require a special recipe. No two recipes will bring you the same type of cookie. Some will turn out cakey, some chewy, flat or with that crinkle top that I love. Sometimes they don’t come out right at all. Finding the right recipe takes a little time. When you think you’ve found it, you may still try other recipes just to be sure. Well, the recipe is just about there for me. Beautiful aren’t they?
A fantastic all around cookie, there is a surprise hint of nutmeg and cinnamon. Intriguing isn’t it? This recipe comes from Aimee at Sugary Sweets.
Ingredients
- 1½ cup Crisco (butter flavored)
- 2½ cup brown sugar
- ¼ cup milk
- 2 Tbsp vanilla extract
- 2 egg
- 3½ cup flour
- 2 tsp salt
- 1½ tsp baking soda
- 2 pinches of nutmeg
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1½ bags of milk chocolate morsels
Directions
- Combine crisco, sugar, milk and vanilla. Beat in eggs. Add dry ingredients and combine thoroughly. Add in morsels.
- I prefer to make these cookies big. You do whatever makes your skirt fly up. Or your pants drop. Or whatever.
- Bake in a 375 degree oven for 10-13 minutes, until lightly browned on top. Of course, I recommend using a stone to cook these on, to get even browning.
