32 Quick and Delicious Salad Dressings…Ready In a Pinch
All too often I find myself reverting to the same two or three salad dressings. This makes for routine greens which can get kind of boring. So I have put together a list of easy and delicious dressings that you can bookmark for later. Come back here and come back often. Sometimes I find great ones, make them, and forget where I found the recipe! Tell me this has happened to you?
Of course, you can easily buy any dressing you need, but if you do, can I advise you get the ones in the produce section? They just taste better. If you want to join the ranks of the many home cooks that have realized that making your own dressings at home is easier than figuring out how to work your coffee machine, then read on.
Vinaigrettes
The basic vinaigrette is so simple and easy to remember. It is olive oil and vinegar. Just remember the ratios – usually 3 parts oil to 1 part vinegar – and you are good to go. Some recipes will use more vinegar, but my thought is that you can always adjust it to taste. Expand easily from there by adding some acidity like lemon juice or for a sweeter dressing add some brown sugar. Change the type of vinegar to change the whole dressing, and add some herbs and spices to try something new. Here are a few combinations I love.
